Frequently asked questions

Questions about replacing lenses

Find quick answers about reglazing existing glasses, posting your frames and choosing the right replacement lenses.

Can you replace lenses in existing glasses?

Yes. Replacement lenses can be fitted into many existing glasses frames, allowing you to keep a frame you already like while updating the prescription, lens type or finish.

Can scratched lenses be replaced?

Yes. Scratched or damaged lenses can often be replaced while retaining the existing frame, provided the frame remains suitable for reglazing.

Can you reglaze designer frames?

Many designer frames can be assessed for replacement lenses. Suitability depends on the condition, construction and age of the frame rather than the brand alone.

How long does lens replacement take?

Single vision orders typically take 5–7 working days and varifocal orders typically take 7–10 working days once the glasses have arrived. More complex orders may take longer.

What happens if my frame is unsuitable?

If we identify a concern during the initial frame assessment, we will contact you before any glazing work begins to explain the available options.

Can you replace varifocal lenses?

Yes. Varifocal replacement lenses are available in several designs, with options for lens thickness and finish depending on your prescription and frame.

Can you replace sunglass lenses?

Yes. Available options include replacement tinted lenses, prescription sunglasses, polarised prescription lenses and Transitions® prescription lenses.

How should I package my glasses?

Leave the existing lenses in the frame, use a protective case where possible and place the case inside sturdy outer packaging. Follow the postage instructions supplied after checkout and use a tracked service.
